摘要
The aim of this review is to give an overview of the recent developments in the field of lyotropic metallomesogens. We will focus on the molecular design of metallomesogens and on their lyotropic mesophases in mixtures with solvents. Four classes of low molecular weight metal complexes exhibiting lyomesophases have been to date identified: the micellar amphiphilic metal complexes, the chromonic systems, some thermotropic metallomesogens, and charge-transfer complexes. Their lyotropic behaviour will be discussed in connection with their molecular shape and, should it be the case, the role of the metal emphasised. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
