Effect of periodicity of the two-dimensional vacancy planes on the thermal conductivity of bulk Ga2Te3

摘要
Ga2Te3 contains structural vacancies due to the valence mismatch between the cation and anion, and these vacancies make regularly arranged two-dimensional (2D) planes with approximately 3.5-nanometer intervals. Most likely due to the effective phonon scattering by the vacancy planes, Ga2Te3 exhibits an unexpectedly low thermal conductivity (kappa). In the present study, the effect of the periodicity of the 2D vacancy planes on the kappa of Ga2Te3 was investigated. (C) 2009 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
