A general method for describing diffusion kinetics in ordered structures of any complexity

摘要
A recent analytical formalism proposed by the authors for dealing with diffusion kinetics in various ordered structures is generalized to describe the kinetics in ordered structures of any complexity. The formalism is a sophisticated adaptation of Manning's random alloy formalism and is based on the determination of a set of probabilities to reverse each particular kind of jump in a given structure. These probabilities are found from the effective vacancy escape frequencies from a given site or from direct inspection of the possible jump sequences.
