Mathematical model of polymer adsorption accompanied by flocculation

摘要
A mathematical model that describes the change in the number of dispersed particles and the amount of polymer adsorbed on particles for polymer adsorption accompanied by flocculation is presented. The model provides the possibility of calculating the relationship between the surface area of a particle covered with one macromolecule and the fraction of the outside surface area of the aggregate covered by polymer with the mass of adsorbed polymer in the unit volume of dispersion. Agreement between the mathematical model and experimental data for the adsorption of polyethylene oxide on AgI dispersion is shown. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
