Synthesis and aggregates of phenylene-ethynylene substituted polycyclic aromatic compounds

摘要：

The synthesis of polycyclic aromatic compounds and the aggregation of compounds in solutions were analyzed. The polycyclic aromatics that were capable of undergoing C-C coupling reactions were synthesized in a two step route. These compounds were found to be used as building blocks for complex molecular architecture, such as phenylene-ethnylenes. The concentration-dependent nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments determined that these compounds aggregated in the solution and this helped in the identification of solid substrates on different superstructures.
