摘要
A study was conducted to develop approach to control silica deposition on partial surface of Au nanospheres (NS). The selective deposition was driven by the partitioned surface functionalities on AuNSs through competitive ligand coordination. AgNSs or Ag nanorods (NRs) were grown on the exposed Au surface, generating ternary Ag-Au-SiO2 structures and reducing the symmetry. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) was used as silica precursor to conduct the investigations. The surface of the AuNSs was partially encapsulated with SiO2 after its hydrolysis and subsequent condensation catalyzed by ammonia.
