摘要：

Silica supported sodium hydrogen sulfate (NaHSO4.SiO2) has been employed for efficient thioacetalization and transthioacetalization of carbonyl compounds in CH(2)C(l)2 at room temperature. Selectivity of thioacetalization was dependent on the thiols used for the conversion. The same catalyst was also found to be effective for deprotection of thioacetals in CH2Cl2-H2O at room temperature.
