Light modulation by biodegradatic poly-L-lactic acid film

摘要
Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) crystalline polymers, recycled for use as technological resources, were studied. The optical activity of a PLLA film was measured using a high accuracy universal polarimeter (HAUP) and it was found that its optical rotatory power is greater than that of quartz. The experimental results prove that the PLLA crystalline polymer is capable of high speed and low voltage light modulation.
