The structure of intercrystalline interfaces

摘要
A number of parameters, which are useful tool for classification of interfaces, interpretation of the experimental results, and selecting interfaces for specific applications, are presented. These parameters permit to construct maps of structure transformations as a function of various variables as well as order interfaces into categories according to properties and structures. The attempts to relate the grain boundary (GB) structure and crystallography bring about the perspective of indexing each GB by a large fraction. The relative importance of the various geometrical parameters depends on the localization parameter, which characterizes to what extend the interface or grain boundary misfit is localized in dislocation cores.
