摘要
Residual phosphorus cations left by phosphate eater form a surface layer covering the BaTiO3 particles. During the sintering step, this layer reacts with BaTiO3 to form BaO-rich compounds as Ba2TiP2O9 and Ba-3(PO4)(2). BaO enrichment of the surface of the BaTiO3 particles may be the origin of the grain growth inhibition observed in BaTiO, doped with small amounts of P2O5. Moreover, these results support the hypothesis that the reported 4BaO . 3TiO(2) . P2O5 compound actually represents two binary compounds: Ba-3(PO4)(2) and a TiO2 rich 'polytitanate'.
