Synthesis of ultrafine BaTiO3 particles from polymeric precursor:: their structure and surface property

摘要
Barium titanate (BaTiO3) particles of about 20 nm in size have been synthesized by heat-treating polymeric precursors containing barium and titanium in air at 600 degrees C for 8 h. The crystal structure has been investigated using X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The XRD measurement indicated formation of cubic BaTiO3. However, the Raman spectrum suggested that the tetragonal structure might be slightly sustained in the ultrafine BaTiO3 particles. Zeta potentials as a surface property of the particles were also determined by an electrophoretic light scattering technique as a function of pH. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
