摘要：
Recognizing an urgent need to involve the research and application communities to advance regional climate research, a workshop on this topic was held on 2-4 April 2001 at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, Colorado. Participants addressed the regional climate problem, global climate modeling, statistical and dynamical downscaling, data and model diagnostics and validation, and downscaling applications. Future paths for regional climate research were recommended.
