摘要
Columbia Gorge gap flow, which occurs when a pressure gradient develops across the Cascade Mountains of Washington and Oregon, is discussed. Gap flow through the gorge plays an important role in determining the weather and climate both within and adjacent to the gorge. High resolution forecasts of gorge flow that produce more realistic structures will soon become operationally feasible as increasing computer power becomes available.
