Low-temperature ionic conductivity of relevant solutions and of SiO2 gels before and after exchanges in propylene carbonate solutions

The ionic conductivities of a series of SiO2 gels both as-received and exchanged in propylene carbonate solutions (PC, LiPF6 + PC and LiBF4+PC) were measured in the temperature range 120-300 K. Relevant solutions were also studied. The temperature dependences of the conductivity of fresh sols and as-received gels did not follow the Arrhenius equation. They were fitted using the Vogel-Tammann-Fulcher formula. After the solvent exchanges, the temperature dependence of the conductivity of the gels resembled that of the exchange solutions.
