摘要：

In this paper the wear behaviour of the Advanced Digital Recording (ADR(TM)) system is described. After some introduction regarding head and tape aspects, the native wear behaviour is discussed. To prevent wear, two wear protective coatings an evaluated. Finally the head to tape interface temperature is linked to the friction coefficient. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
