Shortened multiwall carbon nanotubes (sMWCNTs) were prepared by the chemical oxidation methods. The sMWCNTs form the self-assembled layer on the polycationic PDAC layer by electrostatic attraction. A SPS layer prevents the sMWCNTs from arraying on the surface due to the electric repulsion. These results imply that the patterns of carbon nanotubes can be manipulated by patterned multilayer templates.
