Disposable optochemical sensor for the determination of chlorine concentrations in the ppb-range

摘要
An optochemical sensor for the determination of chlorine concentrations has been developed by immobilizing the redox indicator 4,4'-diamino-3,3'-dimethylbiphenyl (o-tolidine) in a silicone-polycarbonate copolymer membrane. Disposable sensors were obtained by coating small glass sheets with thin films of the dye containing membrane. The determination of chlorine concentrations between 0.05 and 5.0 ppm has been carried out. By this a calibration plot with a linear correlation between the chlorine concentrations and the respective sensor responses was obtained. The time for the analysis of the sensor response has been minimized by the application of a kinetical interpretation method. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
