摘要：

The creation of pervasive spaces and the difficulties in programming them are discussed. Various pervasive computing systems and prototypes have been developed to demonstrate how this new paradigm benefits specific application domains such as homeland security, successful aging, entertainment, and education. Service-oriented programming seems more appropriate than the object model for pervasive computing. Service-oriented programming is also a much simpler model and increases the chance of success in broadening the programmer model.
