Static and dynamic stability of levitated ball above ring in MTG HTS-magnet systems

Superconducting levitating and rotating systems such as a levitated superconducting ball above a permanent ring magnet, and a levitated ball magnet above a superconducting MTG ring, have been investigated. It is shown that the dependence of the levitating force versus distance between levitated ball and ring has hysteresis and several maxima. Under AC magnetic field, the levitated ball sample oscillates stably at certain conditions. Amplitude-frequency curve has several maxima. At certain frequencies of AC magnetic field, the levitated ball begins to spin. The criteria of superconducting materials that suitable for stable gyro systems are given.
