Unusual Manifestations and Complications of Endometriosis-Spectrum of Imaging Findings: Pictorial Review

Objective Endometriosis is an important cause of chronic pelvic pain and infertility. Although the ovary is the most common site of involvement, endometriotic implants may occur in other locations outside the pelvis. Unusual sites of implantation and associated complications may make endometriosis a challenging entity to diagnose. Conclusion This article reviews the imaging spectrum of endometriosis, with an emphasis on less common sites of involvement as well as complications. After reviewing this article, the reader should have an improved ability to diagnose endometriosis on multiple imaging techniques including ultrasound, CT, and MRI.
