摘要
Very different types of surface segregation are found for very similar Heusler alloy materials. We observed significant manganese and antimony segregation to the surfaces and near surface regions of the semi-Heusler alloys NiMnSb and TiCoSb respectively. The Mn and Sb surface enrichment was characterized by angle resolved core level photoemission. Indications Of surface disorder from low energy electron diffraction provide complimentary evidence of segregation. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
