Very high field EPR study of a molecular nanomagnet

摘要
Very high held EPR spectra have been recorded at several frequencies and temperatures on a polycrystalline sample of [Mn12O12(CH3COO)(16)(H2O)(4)]. 2CH(3)COOH . 4H(2)O, Mn12. This compound is the first example of a molecular spin cluster behaving like a nanomagnet. These EPR measurements have lead to a precise description of the magnetic ground state of the system, including fourth-order terms which are particularly relevant for quantum tunnelling of the Magnetisation (QTM).
