The structural change caused by temperature-induced metal-to-ligand charge transfer in [Pd(HBQD)2]TCNQ(HBQD=1,2-benzoquinonedioxime)

摘要
The crystal structure of a charge-transfer complex, [Pd(HBQD)(2)]TCNQ (TCNQ=tetracyanoquinodimethane, HBQD = 1,2-benzoquinonedioxime) has been studied at 295 K and 110 K by X-ray diffraction. The bond-length change in the ligand pi-conjugated system of Pd(HBQD)(2) was consistent with the nodal property of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital. This supports the temperature-induced charge transfer from the Pd ion to the pi* antibonding orbital of ligand HBQD.
