Near threshold dissociative ionization of Na2 in the 41Σg+ state

摘要
We have measured highly resolved flight time spectra of slow Na+ ions produced by near threshold dissociative ionization of Na-2. SingIe rotational levels (J = 16) were prepared by optical-optical double resonance into vibrational levels from upsilon = 50-69 in the 4(1) Sigma(g)(+) state. For upsilon = 52 and 55 strong evidence exists for the significant production of ion fragments with near zero kinetic energy. A detailed Monte Carlo simulation agrees well with experimental fragment Right time behavior and provides a sensitive test for calculations of the 1(2) Sigma(u)(+) ion potential.
