摘要
This paper describes some of the potential impact the aging population may have on routine optometric practice from the perspective of the aging normal patient as opposed to the low vision patient. The significance of social aspects, criteria for change and the importance of effective communication are emphasised. The implications of the major aging diseases (stroke, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease) on the optometric examination is included. (C) 1998 The College of Optometrists.
