摘要：

The preparation of alcohols, ethers and phenols was discussed. The methods of preparation of alcohols from carbonyl compounds, from alkenes and by using biotransformations were examined. The regioselectivity was high in all cases in the preparation of phenols. The intramolecular palladium-coupling of phenols and aryl halides was found to be useful in the preparation of polycyclic phenols in good yield.
