摘要
The kinetics of dissolution of calcium oxalate (CaOX) calculi in physiological solutions containing alpha-ketoglutaric acids at different concentrations were studied, using the change in the Archimedean weight of samples immersed in the solution. It was found that alpha-ketoglutaric acid (a normal physiological constituent of urine) acts at increased concentrations as a dissolving agent with respect to CaOX calculi. Analysis of the experimental results enabled the determination of the increased solubility of calcium oxalate in the presence of alpha-ketoglutaric acid which can be defined as a new and promising agent for dissolving CaOX calculi in human urine. The inhibiting effect of alpha-ketoglutanic acid on CaOX precipitation in human urine is also discussed.
