摘要
1. High strain rate superplasticity (HSR SP) was achieved in two commercial cast Al-based alloys by introducing ultrafine grain sizes through intense plastic straining using equal-channel angular pressing. 2. The results demonstrate that, contrary to some implications from experiments on metal matrix composites, partial melting is not a requirement for HSR SP.
