An efficient and simple procedure for the direct conversion of aldehydes into the corresponding nitriles with (NH2OHHCl)-H-./dry Al2O3/MeSO2Cl or amides with (NH2OHHCl)-H-./wet Al2O3/MeSO2Cl are studied. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
