To summarise the management of this difficult condition: 1) Prevention is better than cure. 2) Operation should be performed when the knee is 'quiet' with no significant restriction of movement. 3) The tunnels must be in the right place. There must be adequate postoperative analgesia with correct rehabilitation, concentrating on immediate return of full extension.
