Supporting caregivers of older people: an overview of problems and priorities

This paper uses a broad definition of 'support' to caregivers and considers how, given the need for support, this can be provided in a variety of ways. It emphasises issues such as the need for more research on the relative merits of different types of support, for consideration of the social context within which support is given and received, the way in which it is provided, and caregivers' own perceptions of what, helps them in their caring activities.
