Probing the normal-state gap in high-Tc superconductors by break-junction tunneling

摘要
Tunneling measurements on as-grown Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta have been carried out. We have observed both the temperature dependent and temperature independent normal-start: gaps. The highest gap-dosing temperature for the former is found to be similar to 250 K. The latter-gap width, which is visible even at room temperature, corresponds to the energy separation of the outer humps of the superconducting gap as well as of the large single gap below T-C. From these facts, the existence of different kinds of normal-state gap is suggested. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
