Selective electrochemical dissolution in two-phase La-Zr-Al-Cu-Ni metallic glass

摘要
The electrochemical behavior of the two-phase metallic glass La27.5Zr27.5Al25Cu10Ni10 was studied. In phthalate buffer (pH = 5) the passivation ability of the (Zr-Ni)-rich phase determines mainly the anodic behavior. In sulphuric acid (pH = 0-1) selective dissolution of the (La-Cu)-rich phase leads to a fine structure of the remaining amorphous (Zr-Ni)-rich phase. (C) 2004 Acta Materialia Inc.
