Investigation of the kinetics of reduction of manganese tungstate by hydrogen

摘要
The present work was carried out as a part of a research program studying the reduction kinetics of some transition metal tungstates. Manganese tungstate was reduced by hydrogen under isothermal conditions in the temperature range 883-1183 K. The reaction was round to take place in a single step with MnO and W as the solid products. The activation energy for the reduction of manganese tungstate was evaluated to be 92 kJ mol(-1) using the initial reaction rates. This activation energy was compared with the activation energies of the other transition metal tungstates in the light of bond strength of the metal-oxygen bonds. (C) Munksgaard, 2000.
