Endothelial function, platelet activation and coagulation in lower limb occlusive arterial disease during treadmill exercise:: Correlations with transcutaneous oxygen pressure

摘要：

We found a correlation between TcPO2 and the time of pain occurrence during exercise or biological markers of endothelial injury, platelet or coagulation activation. We suggest that a treadmill exercise test is performed together with a measurement of TcPO2 before treatment. Our results suggest regular but limited waliing tests be performed while TcPO2 remains within the range 40-50 mm Hg. However, the exercise of claudicants to pain may not always be advisable as it seems to be associated with platelet activation and endothelial cell damage.
