摘要
This paper relates details of thr presentations made during the Symposium on Magnetic Recording held during ICM '97. The format for the symposium consisted of two presentations, detailing the basics of the technology, a description of the format of the current recording media and some indication of current technological issues and their relationship to the underline science. Subsequently, a brief panel discussion was held during which questions from the floor were discussed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
