摘要
Cognitive neuroscience has provided strong support for the idea that there are multiple memory systems. Recent evidence suggests that remembering and knowing may be two types of recognition with different neural substrates. The remember/know distinction is not equivalent to the explicit/implicit distinction because both remembering and knowing are impaired after damage to medial temporal lobe structures. A number of converging lines of evidence suggest that the relationship between remembering and knowing is one of redundancy, with "knowing" processes also active during remembering. Remembering appears to depend additionally on frontal lobe functioning. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
