Spherical LiNi(1-x)MxO(2) precursors were synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. The effects of foreign metal on the electrical property of LiNiO2 were investigated. The crystal phase of foreign-metal-doped LiNiO2 resulted in a typical rock salt structure having an R (3) over barm space group. The rechargeable capacity of LiNiO2 was approximately 190-230 mAh.g(-1) and offered stable cycle performance at 160 mAh.g(-1). Although the addition of foreign element caused a reduction in rechargeable capacity, the cycle performance was stable at approximately 65-105 mAh.g(-1).
