Preparation and structural characterization of C70 chemically modified poly(N-vinylcarbazole)

摘要
We report the synthesis of C-70 chemically modified poly(N-vinylcarbazole) through direct reaction of carbanion intermediates of PVK with C-70 The structure of this polymer was confirmed by a variety of characterization techniques such as UV-visible, FT-IR, GPC, TGA, ESR, C-13 NMR, and SEM. The results show that this novel polymer has a visible earthy grey cast when compared with the unreacted polymer (PVK), and is highly soluble in some common organic solvents. The C-70 chemically modified PVK has a new structure in the UV-vis absorption spectrum and extends the active range from about 280 to 750 nm. The thermal stability of pure PVK is apparently enhanced by C-70 chemical modification. It is also found that in this polymer there are two main kinds of paramagnetic species.
