Charge and magnetic order in La0.5Sr1.5MnO4

摘要
Elastic neutron scattering measurements characterizing the charge and magnetic order in La0.5Sr1.5MnO4 are presented. Superlattice reflections corresponding to an alternating Mn+3/Mn+4 pattern with wave vector q(co) = (1/2, 1/2, 0) are observed below the charge ordering temperature, T-co 217 K. Below the Neel temperature, T-N approximate to 110 K, the magnetic moments associated with these ions form an ordered structure with dimensions 2 root 2a x 2 root 2a X 2c relative to the underlying chemical cell.
