Electron microscopy of carbon nanotubules and related structures

摘要
For some observations of multishell carbon nanotubules it is absolutely necessary to combine several TEM techniques in order to come to a correct interpretation of the images. In this paper, we show that a combination of dark field images and electron diffraction patterns gives the handedness of chiral nanotubes. Combination of electron diffraction patterns and images of a bend in a carbon nanotubule allows the comparison between theoretical models and observations. Finally, we report a TEM study of cylindrical and conical PbNb2S5 structures and the results are compared with observations of carbon nanotubules. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
