Beam-laser measurements and relativistic Hartree-Fock calculations of the lifetimes of the 4d(9)5p levels in Ag II

摘要：

We report measurements of 10 of the 4d(9)5p levels in Ag II using laser excitation of a fast beam, and we compare these results with those obtained from a calculation using Cowan's relativistic Hartree-Fock method. The mean ratio of the experimental and theoretical lifetimes is 1.057 +/- 0.050. Our results are also compared with previous (non-laser) experiments and calculations. Here the agreement with our results is only fair.
