摘要
Laparoscopic treatment of benign conditions of the colon rectum, and anus are well accepted. Three potentially advantageous procedures include sigmoid colectomy, ilieocolic resection, and stoma creation for sigmoid diverticulitis, terminal ileal Crohn's disease, and severe perianal Crohn's disease. Other technically feasible procedures include laparoscopically assisted total abdominal colectomy for colonic Crohn's disease, laparoscopic total proctocolectomy for colonic and anorectal Crohn's disease, and laparoscopic secondary ileoproctostomy or coloproctostomy, such as Hartmann's reversal procedures. With these various procedures, significant benefits can be expected relative to the length of ileus, the possibility of adhesion formation, and the patient's experience with pain, period of hospitalization, cosmesis, and disability.
