Bulk periodically poled MgO-doped LiNbO3 (PPMgLN) crystals have been successfully fabricated by an electric field poling process using a liquid electrode technique. The fabricated PPMgLN crystals with a 30.0 mu m domain-inverted period were 0.5 mm thick and had uniform domain structures more than 30 mm long. The ratio of the domain-inverted width to the domain-inverted period (duty cycle) for fabricated PPMgLN was approximately 50% on average. Furthermore, using the same method, 0.5-mm-thick PPMgLN with a 17.6 mu m domain-inverted period and more than 30 mm interaction length could be fabricated and the average duty cycle was confirmed to be approximately 50%.
