Magneto-optical Kerr spectra of epitaxially grown Fe (001) and (110) films in the range 1.5-10 eV

摘要
Orientation dependence of MO Kerr rotation and ellipticity spectra in epitaxitial Fe (0 0 1) and Fe (1 1 0) films deposited on Au (0 0 1) and (1 1 1) plane buffer layers are reported in the range 1.55-10 eV. It is found that there is some orientational dependence in the MO Kerr spectra of the epitaxial Fe films even though Fe does not have large magnetic anisotropy. Furthermore, the shape of the MO Kerr spectrum in Fe (1 0 0) film agrees rather well with the theoretical calculation. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
