[GRAPHICS] Optically active cyclopentadienyldialkoxyallyltitanium complexes have been employed for the desymmetrization of meso-dialdehydes. Allylation of these dialdehydes and subsequent oxidation afford chiral lactones with good diastereoselectivity and excellent enantioselectivity.
