Complexes of bismuth(III) chloride with oxygen donor ligands. Structural characterization of BiCl3 center dot 3THF, BiCl3 diglyme and BiCl3 center dot diethylcarbitol

摘要
The bismuth(III) chloride ether complexes BiCl3 . diglyme (1), BiCl3 . diethylcarbitol (2) and BiCl3 . 3THF (3) (diglyme = bis(2-methoxy)ethyl ether; diethylcarbitol = bis(2-ethoxy)ethyl ether) have been prepared. Compounds 1 and 2 form dimers in the solid state and exhibit distorted pentagonal bipyramidal coordination around the bismuth centers, while complex 3 is monomeric in the crystal lattice and shows approximate octahedral coordination for bismuth.
