Effects of mitral and/or aortic valve replacement or repair on endothelium-dependent peripheral vasorelaxation and its relation to improvement in exercise capacity

摘要
Acetylcholine-induced forearm blood flow response and nitroprusside- induced blood flow response were measured before and after valve repair or replacement in patients with chronic heart failure due to valvular heart disease. The increase in acetylcholine-induced peak forearm blood flow from baseline was enhanced after recovery from heart failure, and improved with changes in peak oxygen uptake; however, nitroprusside-induced peak blood flow did not increase.
