摘要
This paper presents recent non-destructive testing results obtained from the inspection of delaminated quasi-isotropic carbon fibre reinforced plastic materials. Inspections were carried out using three different non-destructive testing methods; eddy current, ultrasonic C-scan and scanning acoustic microscopy. The results achieved for each method, in terms of delamination detectability, ease of inspection and signal interpretation, are described and their advantages and limitations discussed. Although a correlation of the information gathered with the three methods can be observed, it appears that both eddy current testing and ultrasonic C-scan provide a more complete assessment of the structural integrity of the component than scanning acoustic microscopy.
