Ergodic approach to magnetoresistance of a two-dimensional electron gas in a random magnetic field

摘要
We study the magnetotransport properties of a free-electron gas subject to a normal static magnetic field consisting of a constant term plus a random one with zero average. Within the semiclassical framework we derive expressions for the resistivity tensor for both ballistic and diffusive electrons and for different realizations of the random magnetic field (RMF). The basis of our approximation consists of replacing the RMF by a space-homogeneous but time-dependent RMF for which the electron dynamics can be solved analytically.
